WERCC Statement in Response to Announced FCA Layoffs

“The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is concerned about the announcement given yesterday by FCA that 1500 employees will be laid off this September. Our thoughts are with the employees and their families who have been impacted.

The Chamber is also concerned about the potential impact to the supply chain in the Windsor-Essex region and we are hoping that the impact can be minimized.

We encourage FCA, the government, the Labour Union, supply chain partners, and all stakeholders to collaborate in such a way that jobs may be saved and displaced employees may quickly find new work.” (WERCC President & CEO Rakesh, Naidu)
